As I mentioned, I'm headed out of town this weekend for a (hopefully) fun-filled trip with friends down to San Luis Obispo. I'll be taking pictures and may post some of the good ones. In other news:

ASUC Senator Noah Kagan has enlisted my help for his new campus publication Negativity. It's pretty much a shockjock free speech publication, which I strongly support. I will always support anything that champions and pushes the envelope of free speech, no matter how crude, vulgar, crass, or offensive it is. As the overquoted Voltaire said: "I may not agree with what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it."

It's about time that the Daily Cal had a columnist that truly is representative of the Berkeley community and who can write with understated eloquence. Sure, I thoroughly enjoy Rachel Klein's "Sex on Tuesday" column, but it is Isaac Clemens, who I enjoyed last semester, but who in this semester has written some very good columns. Last week's column on the business aspects of higher education was interesting and informative without being regurgitative. The column today is very well-written with a subtle meaning and purpose. It's delicacy and professionalism would qualify it to be a column in any of the major publications in the country. Great job Isaac and I encourage you to read his column every Friday. You can access the archives of his columns at the Daily Cal website.

Best wishes to all of you and I'll be back Sunday night.

Hey kids, sorry I haven't blogged lately, not a lot going on.

We held another Heuristic Squelch Comedy Night at Blake's last night. Pretty good show. Once again, the 2nd comedian was funnier then the headliner. Bruce Cherry was really on a roll, as was our delightful Squelch host Kenny Byerly. The headliner, Brian Malow, didn't really seem to get the vibe of the audience and said some stuff that even I considered to be in bad taste.

Still, Blake's is a great venue for the show and overall it was a funny night of comedy.

For the second straight show I did open mic, albeit this was a very short set. I definitely was more comfortable then the last time, and the material was shorter but better. Response seemed a little better, but there really were only 20 or so people left by the time open mic rolled around.

That's about it. Expect some big announcements in the next couple weeks, as well as a recap of my weekend in San Luis Obispo on Monday. Still no "Birthday Girl."

Well, no "Birthday Girl" yet.... Damn. Well, I must go and will try very hard to go this week.

Helluva Super Bowl. The Patriots had everything other than talent in their favor, and that proved enough. It was good to see that they still pulled it out after that tough holding call, that could've been a gamebreaker. It's about time the Boston area got themselves a championship.
There's an excellent interview with Dustin Diamond, Screech from "Saved by the Bell" at The Onion AV Club. Check it out, it's enlightening.... Especially if you were an avid "Saved by the Bell" fan growing up.
